Watch Around Water
This is an accredited Watch Around Water facility meaning there are guidelines that must be followed whilst visiting the centre.
Children under 5 - must be accompanied into the facility, constantly supervised and remain within one arm's reach of the Parent/ Guardian over the age 0f 16. If the child is in the water, the parent/guardian must be in the water too.
Children 5 -11 - must be accompanied into the facility and constantly supervised by a parent/guardian who must be over the age of 16. The parent/guardian must have a clear view of the child at all times
Unsupervised children (of any age) will be removed from the water if the lifeguard is concerned for their safety.
- The supervision of children in aquatic facilities is not the sole responsibility of lifeguards.
- Lifeguards are employed on a 1:100 ratio. This is based on the expectation that parents will provide direct supervision of children.
- Parents are required to provide constant and direct supervision needed for young children.
